Chirodini released with 40 prints and Venkatesh is coming up with some more. Reviews and critiques reviewed that movie: 'Chirodini. Tumi Je Aamar could as well be a version of or any other tragic teen love story done to death on screen.
But ’s directorial debut turns the cliche on its head and makes a two-hour-20-minute entertainer, without the tackiness, sloppiness and meaningless melodrama typical of mainstream Tollywood. Chirodini’s strength is its screenplay — smart, crisp and racy with neat shot divisions, life-like situations and convincing characters.' Screenindia.com comments that 'The script begins to falter after the diabolic uncle takes the couple away, but till then it is smooth-sailing. Priyanka and Rahul offer the freshness Bengali cinema was dying to get for many years. They are young, absolutely new and have tried to do as much justice to the script as they could though the script backs Priyanka more than Rahul. The original touch is that the film opens with the couple’s elopement after top-angle shots of the city of Kolkata panning across to cover people going about their daily lives including a madman who roams aimlessly across the streets.
The love affair in the first half is a bit repetitive and the scenes in the girl’s home are superfluous.' 'Preetam Choudhury’s production design is mind-blowing and realistic. Jeet’s music ably complemented with Gautam-Susmit’s lyrics blend into the theme and story of the film very well. Premendu Bikash Chaki’s cinematography is brilliant in the second half but not so good in the first.
This is a good debut where the footage is too long and the dream scenes stick out like sore thumbs. Raj has also made Priyanka prance around in a towel but it does not look vulgar. A good debut by a young director. One only hopes he can sustain the standard he has established with his first film. The film deserves one star for production design, one star for acting and one for the cinematography.' References.
A splash of liquid washes the canvas for an agonizing tale of love to unfold. Bhanu's pleas for mercy as he is interrogated by a local police unit, introduces an uncanny atmosphere. Thus begins the story of Bhanu, accused of assaulting a young woman named Jyoti, who recites his life story to the chief policeman, surrounding the events leading to his arrival at Kolkata where he was employed at a road side food stall. It turns out that Bhanu had fallen hopelessly in love with Jyoti, who worked as a domestic aid at a swanky complex nearby. The love of true and the feelings blossoming in the heart of Bhanu for Jyoti were sweet. However, somewhere else, a darker side of love comes to light as Raj, a rich spoilt brat utilizing his material excess to woo Shreya, both of whom resided at a ritzy apartment building in close proximity to Bhanu's fast food cart.
Tumi Je Amar Song
Initially, Raj and Shreya started establishing a strong bond. Raj showered Shreya with material excess, and later revealed his dark. I just wanted to watch Chirodini tumi je amar 2 just because I was surprised to see a commercial Bengali movie getting 7.7 rating on IMDb. As I started watching it, I was actually quite bored because of a slow paced linear narration of mundane life of Bhanu (Arjun Chakrabarty). It felt like a one sided charmless love story ( The feelings of Bhanu for Jyoti (Urmila Mahanta)). Things changed when the narration of Shreya (Ena Saha)began and we went deep into the story. Despite the linear narration, you'll start to empathize for Bhanu for his selfless love to save Jyoti who was accidentally burnt by Raj (Bibhu Mukherjee) who actually wanted to harm Shreya.
Bhanu cloud not understand the game the inspector (Kharaj Mukherjee) was playing with him and took the blame. A Gift of the Magi situation set in as Bhanu's sacrifice couldn't help his lady love.
But the ending will simply move you to see how Jyoti would understand Bhanu's eternal love for her and how she'd sacrifice for him. I'd have given this move a mare 4/10 rating for being a hugely charmless, however last 10-15 mins was AMAZING. I'd misjudge it if I don't rate it 7/10. I'll be honest. This is not a must watch. However, If you watch this movie till the end you'll definitely love this South remake (though I didn't watch the original south movie). And again, the song 'Eka ekela e mon (Solitary mind in solitude)' is mind boggling!
